The IVECAT Research Group led by Dr. Francesc Borràs (IVECAT) is interested in studying the function of extracellular vesicles (exosomes) and their biotechnological applications in the treatment of renal and metabolic diseases, in regenerative processes, as well as their use as biomarkers.
Our laboratory is located in the Germans Trias I Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), a public research center located in Badalona. The Institute is associated with one of the University Hospitals in the area of Barcelona, the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital (HUGTP), and is also part of the Can Ruti Biomedical Campus. The IGTP is a CERCA center, a member of the Biocluster, supported and supervised by the Government of Catalonia. In addition, it is accredited as a center of excellence by the Instituto Carlos III and, as such, is in charge of coordinating scientific research on the Campus, collaborating closely with the other closely related centers.
We are looking for a candidate to join the group as a post-doc, with the possibility of starting a new line of research. There are currently various possibilities of applying for financing from the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Government of Spain in the near future (Investigo Program, Beatriu de Pinós Program, JdC Grants, among others), so according to the candidate’s profile the most appropriate option will be chosen.
